CentAccount^TM is a program that encourages healthy behaviors by offering members financial incentives for performing certain healthy behaviors. It utilizes industry leading technology to restrict card purchases to healthcare related items.

The incentives are delivered through a restricted-use MasterCard® redeemable for health-related items only. This incentive-based approach effectively increases the utilization of preventive services while strengthening the relationships between members and their primary care providers.

The CentAccount program not only strengthens the relationships between members and their Medical Home, but also promotes personal healthcare responsibility and ownership. The program was launched as a pilot in South Carolina and has already attracted national interests from numerous Medicaid agencies.

  • A former Palmetto member has her children enrolled with Absolute Total Care. She is employed as a cashier by a local pharmacy and has a good understanding of HRA’s flexible spending accounts. She really likes the fact that she can use the HRA card to purchase what she needs for her children when she needs it rather than having to place an order and wait for it to arrive in the mail.
