The Centene Charitable Foundation and 15 local health plans joined with non-profit organization Beyond Differences to celebrate No One Eats Alone Day on Feb. 10.
Centene partnered with 40 schools and 6,000 students across the nation to lead activities designed to combat social isolation and the negative impact it can have on a student’s health and academic performance.
The students demonstrated inclusion by sitting with classmates at lunch who they don’t know, or who may feel left out. They were given ice breaker topics to discuss to highlight their commonalities.
Celebrations hosted by Centene’s health plans were part of more than 2,000 schools across the country that celebrated No One Eats Alone Day. The initiative reached more than 1 million students.
