Each year, World Health Day raises awareness of an important aspect of global health and recognizes the vital contributions of care professionals. Centene proudly honors our more than 71,000 employees and healthcare professionals around the world who work tirelessly to provide care during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Recognized on April 7, the 2021 World Health Day theme is "Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone." Reducing health disparities is fundamental to the care we provide, particularly for underserved individuals and communities. Centene is dedicated to ensuring every member can access services and resources with dignity and respect.

We focus on creating targeted, local interventions addressing social determinants of health — the environmental, economic, and social barriers that make it more difficult to be healthy, including transportation, housing, and nutrition.

The need for equitable care has become even more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. Centene's COVID-19 relief efforts were highlighted in industry-leading publications, and our commitment to ensuring the communities we serve have access to quality healthcare remains steadfast.
