Centene is pleased to have announced on Jan. 23 2020, the completion of our acquisition of WellCare. Through this transaction, we are creating a transformative healthcare enterprise. After many months of anticipation, preparation, and hard work, we are now beginning a new chapter in our story.

What started as a single nonprofit Medicaid plan more than 35 years ago, is now a multi-national healthcare enterprise providing high-quality, cost-effective healthcare solutions to more than 23 million members in all 50 states. In bringing together our two high-performing organizations that care deeply about the health of our members, our plans now serve nearly 1 in 15 individuals in the nation.

We are proud to be the largest Medicaid managed care organization in the country, the national leader in managed long-term services and supports, and the number one insurer in the nation on the Health Insurance Marketplace. From the inside out, we are building a new future for the health of the communities we serve. We will do this through enhanced healthcare programs, expanded capabilities, continued investments in technology, and access to a wide range of affordable health solutions.

"Transforming the health of our communities is a bold challenge, and one we fully embrace. We will continue to meet opportunities head on through a local approach that focuses on the whole health of those we serve," said Michael F. Neidorff, Centene Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. "We are better positioned than ever to meet the dynamic needs of our members. The bold steps we're taking are supported by a solid, mission-driven foundation, and guided by the shared sense of purpose on which our organizations have been built."

Most importantly, our commitment to our members, providers, and employees remains unchanged. We remain steadfast in our commitment to being local and firmly believe healthcare is best delivered and managed at the local level. Our dedication to community involvement and investment will continue, including supporting the arts, education, health, and social services. As we move forward, our highest priority continues to be delivering on our purpose of transforming the health of the community, one person at a time.
