Centene, Arizona Complete Health, Health Net Federal Services and Magellan Federal recently partnered with the Pro Football Hall of Fame for a “Salute to Service” in Arizona.

“Salute to Service” is a partnership between Centene and the Pro Football Hall of Fame to honor veterans, active-duty service members and their families.

As part of the Super Bowl LVII events in Arizona, Pro Football Hall of Famers and leadership from each of the partner organizations spent time with patients and staff at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix. They also visited Luke Air Force Base and two community non-profit organizations, the Avondale Resource Center and Pinal Veteran Transition Center that houses homeless veterans.

“Our partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame helps us bring to life our mission of transforming the health of the community, one person at a time,” said Martha Smith, Plan President and CEO, Arizona Complete Health. “We had seven Hall of Famers visit veterans at the VA Hospital, thank our active military for their service and spend time with our seniors. The smiles they brought to so many were priceless. Even in just a brief moment, they created a memory of a lifetime for the communities we serve daily. We are grateful that these legends of the gridiron recognize the important role they play in lifting all of us up.”

Centene has a longstanding commitment to the military community and supports a wide range of needs for veterans and military families. Arizona Complete Health, Health Net Federal Services and Magellan Federal, a subsidiary of Magellan Health, provide comprehensive health care services to military veterans enrolled in Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, TRICARE and other programs.

“Everyone from the Pro Football Hall of Fame who was associated with Salute to Service in Phoenix raved about the program and shared stories about how it touched them,” said Jim Porter, Pro Football Hall of Fame President. “The Hall of Famers and Hall staff who participated called it an experience they will not forget.”
